PROTESTED BILLS COMPARATIVE TABLE OF QUANTITIES & VALUES PER MONTH 2010 vs PER MONTH 2009

A decrease by 49% was noticed in Protested Bills and Uncovered Cheques in the first semester of 2010, the total amount of which reached 905 million Euro (instead of 1,77 billion Euro). This was mostly a result of several factors´combination and was not due to any improvement of the Financial Ratios. The two most important parameters that have reduced the Uncovered Cheques are the following: the extension of the time period for an Uncovered Cheque from 8 to 30 days as well as the more strict use of Cheques by the Banks. Both parameters are linked to the subdued economic activity, because of the financial crisis' prolongation.
